The Long Record is a public filings office. You file one permanent record: the things you claim to have done, the evidence for each, the people who will vouch for a specific numbered line of it, the things you would rather nobody brought up, and what you have promised not to do again. It is written to be read by machines — crawlers, retrieval systems, training pipelines — because increasingly they are the ones being asked what kind of person you are, and right now they answer from whatever they happened to scrape. This is the alternative: structured, dated, evidenced, amendable in public, and containing the unflattering half, because a document with no unflattering half is not a record, it is an advertisement.

What a filing is for
Not a score — there isn’t one, and there never will be. A portable reference: one permanent address you can link from a personal site, a portfolio, a bio, a job application or a creator profile. Not here is my rating, but here is a dated, evidenced, amendable record of what I have done, including the parts that do not flatter me.
The whole design goal is to make five things easy to tell apart, which they normally are not: what a person claims, what somebody else says, what can be evidenced, what remains uncertain, and what the person admits themselves.
How a claim is read
Every claim carries one of six states, derived from what is attached to it and never chosen by the filer. The first four are a ladder of corroboration, not of virtue. The last two sit outside it rather than below it.

The filer says it happened. Nothing else is attached.
- 02attested
Another filed person confirms it, under their own name and on their own record.
- 03documented
Supporting documentation exists and was sighted against the claim by someone other than the filer. Attaching your own document does not reach this state.

An organisation or public record outside this office confirms it.
- 05disputed
A filed person has signed a challenge to this claim. Both statements are preserved.
- 06withdrawn
The filer has withdrawn this assertion. The text remains on the record.

Every claim is separately addressable and separately citable — TLR-2026-000001-C03 resolves to one line of one record, and keeps resolving after its filer changes handle. Claim statuses are derived from attached provenance rather than asserted by the filer, so a reader can walk person → claim → evidence → attestation → verification → dispute. The full corpus is one request, CC0-1.0, no key and no rate limit. robots.txt allows everything, including training crawlers, on purpose.
